Good Health Means a Stress Free Life

Health is the entire well-being of a person including physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. We are not getting any younger and as we grow old, different kinds of illnesses also develop in our bodies. These can be minimized if we live a better lifestyle by being fit and healthy. I'm sure all of us are aware of how important health is, yet most of us still ignore our own health because we are too lazy and undetermined in having a healthy lifestyle. For instance, we don't want to avoid eating comfort foods that mainly causes a lot of diseases. Some of us do not have the drive in engaging in physical activity because of lack of motivation.

Some of us fail to understand the importance of health in our lives but some simply ignores its importance. Let me share with you the importance of health.

First, health is so essential that no individual can live without it. Having a healthy life is the basis of being happy. We can live peacefully, worry free and stress free lives if we have a healthy lifestyle. Now if you are always feeling tired and restless, physically and mentally stress, these may indicate that you have a poor health. Poor health does not only affect your body, it also affects your mind and attitude. Good health leads to happiness and it greatly affects not only your life but also your outlook in life.

By being physically healthy means you can be productive. If you are physically fit, most likely you have the energy and strength in doing your tasks easily and fast. One way of being physically fit is by eating the right foods. Fruits and vegetables have the most vitamins and nutrients that our bodies need so eat more of these rather than eating unhealthy food that are oily, fatty and greasy. Give time for physical activity, even just by simple walking or jogging. These will definitely help you stay fit and healthy.

If you are healthy, it would be easy for you to obtain beauty. The most natural way to look great and beautiful is by staying healthy. You don't have to waste a lot of money to different make ups and beauty regimens because you simply need to be healthy in order to become beautiful. Have a balanced diet, take lots of water and have enough sleep and rest and start living a better and healthy life plus stay young and beautiful. Good health means stress free life!

How to Meditate When You Are Stressed - 3 Steps to a Stress-Free Life

Remember the moments when you are so stress that you cannot think properly? Remember the moments when you let out your anger due to stressful situation? Remember the moments when you can feel the blood surging to your brain causing you a big headache? Do not let stress get controls of you but you should have control of it (because stress is controllable in the first place).

Take a step back and follow these simple instructions:

1) Take a deep breath. A really deep one.

When you could not take in anymore air. Just let it out.

2) Repeat it. Five times. Ten times. Up to you.

The point of this step is to allow sufficient amount of oxygen flushing into you brain to help you relax.

3) Look at the source(s) of the stress.

Is it because you have to complete an assignment and the deadline is just around the corner? Overdue bills, pressurizing boss, mountains of work to do or a hard-to-please mother-in-law? Think about it, where is that stress coming from and how come it makes you so stress. Some people are stress-prone and the stress might not have its source. After you find the source, reason around it. Is this stress source life-threatening?

Is it going to cost you a job? Sometimes, you might have different sources of stress, prioritize them, list it down one by one and see which one requires more attention. And you might notice some of the sources of your stress are of minute importance, throw them away and look at the big picture! Looking at the more importance stuff helps you to realise there is one or two things in life that required immediate attention and not 10 at the same time. In this way you reduce stress and can focus more on the immediate problem that need to be solved.

There are many ways to do meditation, you can sit down, close your eyes and think about nothing. Or you can meditate on breathing in and out (usually that is the first technique of learning meditation). Or you can walk slowly and observing your thought. Whatever ways. It works. For whatever purpose you want to achieve.

I have a stress-free life and it is not because I do not have stress but I simply manage it.

How to Achieve a Stress Free Life

There are several things that must come in abundance in order to achieve a stress free life. If any of these become missing then there is a greater possibility that one may grow dull and unhappy with what they do everyday. One must be able to feel the availability of these items even if they are not needed immediately, because they make up for the hidden requirements for personal living security.

Abundance of Work Available
Often, we may feel financially threatened and that our job may not guarantee routine and stable income. When that happens, a great burden hammers us without us realizing its actual cause or underlying reason. Stress is greatly inflicted upon us that makes us worry about reaching out for something further in a very unclear and invisible path. This is especially true when our everyday life is filled with never ending bills and expenses that keeps increasing as days go by. What we feel deep down inside is a continuous struggle to get better paid in order to fulfill the needs of paying for living expenses, let alone, surprise costs that abound during low season periods. Hence, if one stays over a place where work is next to zero, it is one of the greatest threats and source of mental insecurity. It leads people astray or to go beyond control as seemingly there are no options available to choose from. A stable life is a happy life. A place where job opportunities are always available makes up for it.

Abundance of Food
Food is the source of fuel for our body. If we work at a place where food is not easily attainable, it tires our souls and strains the body so much that we become less motivated to work. Imagine a place without a canteen selling food, or coffee or buns, and no super store also to buy anything like that. How does that feel? If the nearest restaurant can be found only after driving several miles away, it adds further stress to us. If getting food as a primary daily need is also a challenge, it is no doubt going to drain us of a lot of physical and mental energy. How can we be happy to work when we are constantly on a belly stretch? Physically hunger translates to immediate downtime.

Other Needs to Complement
There are other types of needs to complement a less hassle routine work experience. For example, there must be transport available to go to work everyday. Basic groceries or stationary tools easily available at nearby stores and light entertainment outlets to ease away tensions of work. The work environment must be safe and crime free under good coverage and surveillance from the police force. Medical aid units should also be present to treat health emergency cases as necessary.

The Importance of Rest and Relaxation

For those of us who are used to being constantly on the go it is easy to forget what it actually feels like to kick back and truly relax. There are many things which we do that we kid ourselves are relaxing when in reality this is not the case.

For example, we tend to assume that sitting on the sofa and watching the television is true relaxation. By comparison to zooming around the house doing various jobs it is indeed relaxing. But watching a horror movie is clearly not as relaxing as lying on a sandy beach listening to the sound of gentle waves upon the shore. What I'm getting at here is that the things which we think of as relaxing are usually seen in this way merely as a matter of comparison to other tasks and activities which we view as jobs, necessities, etc.

Not only that, we tend to simply fit our relaxation time is only when everything else has been dealt with; it does not, for most of us, hold a position of priority. We just grab a few minutes to ourselves whenever we can do so. Ideally we should all put time aside to devote to true rest and relaxation but in reality few of us actually do so; we know it's importance but we tend to ignore it.

And so when we do grab those few "stolen moments" the most important thing, I believe, is to use this time wisely. Make sure that you do make the most of these precious moments. A couple of times recently I spent time in the garden, sitting back, enjoying the sunshine and the gentle breeze, doing absolutely nothing except enjoying the moment. I realized that I really hadn't done that for quite a while.

The benefits I felt were immense. I felt truly relaxed, calm and peaceful. This feeling should be actively sought and experienced by each and every one of us for some part of every day. We cannot always lie in the garden, or depend upon the sun putting in an appearance. What we can rely upon though is the power of our own minds.

We can, in our imaginations, create a perfect environment. As a child you will no doubt remember creating many an imaginary world for yourself and becoming absorbed in whatever scenario you were playing out. We have a natural ability, a natural talent, to imagine and clearly visualize situations. And this visualization triggers feelings that are very true and very real. The imaginary images which we choose to create result in the experiencing of real feelings

It's More Than Rest And Relaxation

I recently read a poll and of the nearly 1000 people who were asked, "Do you need a vacation after your vacation?" 87% of them said yes. It is clear that the commonly stated purpose for a vacation - rest and relaxation - might not be working very well!

While most of us take vacations and look forward to them, perhaps we aren't getting from them what we most need. But, before I get to you and me, let's look at how some other things in our world use a break:

Bears take a long winter break - they call it hibernation.

The tulip bulbs in my front flower bed have recently begun to peak through the soil. They spend ten months of the year seemingly dormant, preparing for their annual coming out party.

Deciduous trees lose their leaves in the fall and take a break, restoring their energy to grow and create new leaves in the spring.

Now - getting a bit closer to home -consider breaks that more closely resemble our vacations:

Kids (and their teachers) get a break from learning around the holidays and in the spring, and, in most cases, a longer summer break as well.

Sports teams take timeouts to consider where they are, decide what to do next and catch their breath. (I know, you hope your vacation is longer than a timeout!)

So, what do the results of the poll and all of these examples have to do with you and your vacation or the breaks you take?

Everything.

While there are many reasons to take a vacation - to be with family and friends, explore something new, get a suntan, or - most of us come back to R & R (rest and relaxation). All of these reasons are important, but the biggest benefit from any break (whether 2 minutes or 2 weeks) should be a third R - rejuvenation.

Bears, tulips and trees are resting over the winter; but more than that they are preparing to create their purpose in the following year. Bears couldn't succeed, tulips wouldn't flower and the trees won't grow without their break to rejuvenate.

Kids and teachers return to school renewed and refreshed. The burnout from several week or months is erased and they are ready to go again! And while sports teams are getting hydrated and catching their breath during the time out they are also preparing for their future success - another part of rejuvenation.

Let me ask you a question.

If 87% of people surveyed say they need a vacation after their vacation, are they getting the rest and relaxation they sought?

More importantly, are they getting the rejuvenation that they need?

Even more importantly, are you?

How to Achieve Rejuvenation

It's one thing to tell you that a goal for your break should be to rejuvenate. (If you hadn't considered that before, now I hope you agree.) But it's another thing to make that happen.

Here are five things you can do to make sure that every break - long or short - helps you refresh and rejuvenate for greater vitality, energy and success.

Make it a goal. Whether a 7-minute power nap or a 7-day cruise, recognize that rejuvenation is a goal. On the cruise that might mean one less late night or a bit more exercise. It might mean a bit less stress over the details of your "perfect vacation" and a bit more time for serendipity. When you make it a goal you will determine what you can do to make your break refreshing and energy creating.

Think of the total you. You are more than your body. Rejuvenation is about refreshing your minds and soul as well as your body. When you think of it this way, you recognize that there are different activities and approaches that refresh each part of you. Which leads to the next point . . .

Recognize what works for you. Maybe you need exercise, time at the spa, a manicure, or a stack of books. Maybe you need the sun or the energy that comes from good friends or a great meal. Maybe you need all of those things to refresh all of who you are. Take some time to think about those activities and situations that refresh and rejuvenate you. And remember that you don't have to wait all year for these activities or try to cram them all into one vacation...

Don't wait for once a year. Hibernation and dormancy are not the lessons we should take from the trees, tulips and bears. We aren't wired the same way, and we don't need to take weeks and months to rejuvenate. Look for ways to spend a weekend, afternoon or an evening with the express purpose of replenishing your mind, body and spirit.

Start now. The end point of the last point is that you don't even have to wait at all. Consider what you can do right now to rejuvenate. A 7-minute power nap? 15 minute walk? Shooting some baskets? Knitting a sweater? Writing in your journal? Reading a great book? Talking with a positive or creative colleague? Make sure that you keep short breaks in your arsenal for creating greater mental, physical and spiritual energy and vitality in your life.

Potential Pointer: Rest and relaxation are fine goals, but limiting. To get the most from any break you must do more than rest and relax, you must use those activities as a way to rejuvenate to live every day more fully, happily and successfully

Recharging The Batteries: Why Fun, Rest, and Relaxation Are So Important

These days, it seems like rest and relaxation are guilty pleasures, things to be ashamed of. We live in a world that tells us we must always stay busy, we must always stay focused on our work. There's no time to get sick. There's no time for vacation. We have to go, go, go! But is this healthy for us?

Think about these numbers. The average company in America gives its worker 3-5 sick days per year. They also give, on average, 2 weeks (10 days) vacation. Sick days, for most people, are anything but relaxing. First of all, you're sick! You don't feel well, you're worried about your health. But most people I know (myself included) have their sick days ruined for another reason: guilt. They are worried about taking time off, worried about what their boss will say, worried about things that won't get done, worried if they will be docked pay if they don't get better soon, etc. It's not usually a restful time for most people.

Vacation time is a bit different. We usually plan ahead for when we'd like to take the time, and we usually plan on doing something fun, getting away from it all. But in this day and age, with e-mail and cell phones, it's hard to escape the daily grind, even if you are 2,000 miles away.

So why is it so hard for us to relax? Some would like to blame it on the previously mentioned technology, but there is a deeper cultural issue here. In Mexico, workers are allowed to take siestas, or little afternoon naps. In some European countries, you're shunned if you show up for work if you're sick. Every boss I've ever had here in America has made it perfectly clear, that if I'm not in the hospital, I'm at my desk (one of the main reasons I work for myself now)! Society has to function, so there is a certain wisdom about being accountable and responsible for showing up to work. But even when we're not there?

If you're one of the many people who suffers from this kind of inescapable "workaholic" stress, there is help. It's a little thing I call "recharging the batteries." Below are some helpful tips for helping you get your batteries back up to full power.

o Spread your vacation out during the year. Take some long, 3- or 4-day weekends. Don't take all 2 weeks at once!

o When you do go on vacation, resist the urge to check your work e-mails and voicemail. You'll have more fun if you don't know what's going on. And it will still be there when you get back!

o Go out with friends after work occasionally. Break out of the pattern of waking up, going to work, going home, going to sleep, repeat.

o Spend a day (or an evening) vegging out on the couch, with some snacks and some good movies (or if you're me, some really bad movies!).

o Give in to some guilty pleasures! Stay up real late on a Saturday, and sleep in on Sunday. Spend a weekend with your kids, doing what they want. Most importantly, have fun!

These are just a few suggestions, but you get the idea. Take a little time for you. Your voicemails and e-mails will still be there in the morning. If you can't fix the problem in the Bahamas, why worry about it there? Make some time for yourself, even if it's just a little bit of time. You'd be amazed at how much better you can feel after just a little bit of time recharging the batteries

Why You Need Your Rest and Relaxation

Rest and relaxation is a must for everyone. We all need this in our daily lives, or we will quickly get burnout and lose our way.

Everyone needs a holiday every now and then. So many of us are so caught up in our work that we forget that we actually need to step back and get away totally for a week or two. In this way we will come back to work refreshed, energized and ready to take on the world again.

Online entrepreneurs who work for themselves become addicted to their computers so easily. They work all hours and sometimes well into the evenings. A rest away from your computer is essential every hour or so for about five minutes. This, believe it or not will give your brain the rest it needs and you will be more productive in this way.

Make sure to be strict with yourself about both work and play time. Schedule your day and leave enough time to spend with your family and loved ones. It is no use working until all hours and missing out on this precious time with them. The whole point of working hard is so that you can give your family the quality lifestyle that they deserve, but it doesn't help if you are always working either.

Just as taking your break every hour is important, taking a well deserved holiday is a must. Try and make an effort to do this at least once a year for at least a week. This will ensure that you get the rest away that you deserve and need and you will return to work more fired up and also be more creative with your marketing.

To ensure that you and your family can get away each year, make sure that you put a certain amount away in your holiday account each month. In this way you will have money to spend on your holiday that won't cut into your month to month expenses.

It doesn't need to be a fancy or expensive trip either, just make sure that you get away from your home. A camping trip can sometimes be more fun for the family than staying in a posh hotel, as you will spend more quality time together as a family, as well as have more funds available for day trips to fun places in the area.

Whatever you do, don't deny yourself and your family the break away that you all deserve. This is what life is all about isn't it?

Ten Tips for a Stress Free Life

Stress is more likely to topple you, if you're not taking care of yourself. Put yourself first. These ten tips can help you stay on course:

1. Make time for yourself. Learn to relax for half hour daily. That will bring relief from chronic stress. Listen to the music you like, draw pictures or paint or dance. I often sit in my backyard and watch the birds eat and drink. Observing nature relaxes you. Just drive to a distance and learn to appreciate mountains or water. Read a book of interest in that atmosphere. Explore and do what works best for you.

2. Learn to relax: Take a deep breath. Close one nostril and breath through the other for 15 seconds, hold the air for 15 seconds and release through the same nostril for 15 seconds. Do this seven times through one nostril and repeat with the other. This will enhance the oxygen in your lungs by means of deep breathing.

3. Observe your thoughts. Avoid negative thought like ' I am hurt, someone said this or I have lost my job what will happen to my future, children are not doing well, my health is not good;. On the contrary encourage positive thoughts in your mind by sayings the same as 'I am not hurt, this is part of the game, people have their own opinions, or I need this break and I should be alright in the future, my children are children they will get better. My health will improve when I eat right, exercise'. Your thoughts are in your control. Learn to manage your thoughts.

4. Exercise regularly. Exercise can help keep depression and anxiety at a distance. Just 30 minutes a day benefits the body and the mind. Regular walking, water aerobics, swimming helps your entire body.

5. Eat right. A diet rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grains can give you more energy to keep stress under control. People tell you about protein. It is available in plenty in beans. Soak them, sprout them and cook them. try a vegan diet. High powered animals like horses, elephants eat grass. Don't just believe in caffeinated drinks. They do not give sustained energy.

6. Be proactive. Expect challenges and be prepared to handle them. Whatever challenge you face, being prepared helps you face stressful situations with confidence.

7. Laugh a lot. Humor is a great way to relieve stress. People who live alone do not have that much opportunity to laugh. Watch comedy programs in TV, join the humor club or play with your neighbor's children. Laughter releases endorphins that help you feel better and maintain a positive attitude. When you need extra help.

8. Manage your time. Do what you can with what you have at any given time. Do not over exert yourself. read my article on Time management with ideas to follow.

9. Find support groups: Plenty of books, websites and support groups are dedicated to helping people get through tough times. Find out and join them Share your challenges with friends, an outside perspective makes all the difference. Believe a higher power is running the show. Spirituality also helps to handle stress.

10. Never whine. Do not complain or whine. Things happen and they happen for a reason. Learn to accept them. Do not let situations or people pull you down. Accept life as it comes and you will experience less stress.

Stress is a part of life and we cannot eliminate it. Sharpen your right tools to keep stress from taking over your life. Use them on a regular basis and don't let them rust. When you strictly follow these, you will experience a peaceful, stress free life. Nothing, absolutely nothing can shake you.
