Stress is caused by something that is either pleasant or unpleasant.
Normally, the stress that we are having is due to the unpleasant situations that we are having everyday, and the unpleasant conditions are not normally good for us.
It can cause disorder, imbalance, and complications in our body. It will affect every single aspect of our lives. Therefore, too much stress is unhealthy.
So we simply should do something to alleviate it.
The best way for us to remove the stress in our body is to relax. By relaxing, it is not confined with only one single activity.
There are several ways on how to relax ourselves in order to relieve the stress that we are feeling and these are my personal favorites:
1.) Meditate.
Meditating is one of the best ways to relax yourself.
There are several crash courses on different types of meditation, but if you have no time to attend such sessions, you can simply just put yourself in a place where it is peaceful and free from distractions.
Think of having your own mantra (which is a word that you say repeatedly), focus on your mantra and let your mind clear your own thoughts.
With regular practice it will start to enhance your senses and regain your focus on the mind and body. You can hear your own breathing, feel the wind that touches your body, and hear the mantra from within your mind over and over again. You may try this for five to twenty minutes everyday if time allows. If not simply lie down on your bed, close your eyes and relax.
2.) Listening to Music.
Music can actually work wonders for everyone.
It inspires you, it uplifts you, and more importantly, it sets your mood. Music can actually make you relax.
Just try to listen to calm music such as waves of the ocean, or anything that is nature-related, or try classical music as well.
Now, the type of music depends on you. If you feel you are being relaxed while listening to pop or even a heavy metal music, you may find that you can unleash the frustration you're feeling very easy.
Listening to relaxing music calms your body and therefore prevents anxiety, depression, and even cardiovascular related issues including heart problems.
Choose your music with care though.
3.) Exercise.
It would be best for you to jog in the morning, or simply, you can just walk in the park.
For best results, try to listen to music as well while your preferred exercise. It's also best for stressed people who have anxiety issues or even depression because our body releases certain hormones that helps us relax and alleviate stress.
Plus, the good thing about exercise is that, you don't need to go to gym to do it. You can exercise at the comfort of your own home, and it doesn't take much time as well. Exercise can help you get fit, both physically and mentally.
4.) Drink Herbal (non caffeine based) Tea.
When you are stressed, it would be best to start your morning with some great music, and embrace the sunshine with a great cup of refreshing tea.
It calms your nerves and mind, and its aromatics can activate your olfactory sense that bring you to a different natural euphoria.
Plus, it has low caffeine. There are several tea flavors that you can choose from, depending on your preference.
